CONGRATS TO ALL OF OUR FALL MVPS!
How Is MVP Calculated?
The MVP Program is based on a tiered skill-level system. The tiers are as follows:
8Ball
Skill Levels 2-3
Skill Levels 4-5
Skill Levels 6-7
9Ball
Skill Levels 1-3
Skill Levels 4-5
Skill Levels 6-9
The MVP is calculated based on the number of points earned divided by the number of points available (PA).
Example in 8-Ball:
In every 8-Ball match, you have 3 points available to win. If you play 10 matches, you have 30 points available to win (3x10). If you win a total of 13 points in those 10 matches then the calculation is: 13 / 30 = 0.43 or 43%. This means that you won 43% of the points available (PA) to you during the session.
Example in 9-Ball:
In every 9-Ball match, you have 20 points available to win. If you play 10 matches, you have 200 points available to win (20x10). If you win a total of 162 points in those 10 matches then the calculation is: 162 / 200 = 0.81 or 81%. This means that you won 81% of the points available (PA) to you during the session.
In each division, one player per session from each tier will be declared the Division MVP. In the event of a tie, both players will be named co-MVPs and both players will receive the MVP awards.
Division stats are available through your Member Services Account. Each player must have a minimum of 7 matches played in a division for that session in order to eligible to be declared the MVP.
What Does the MVP Receive?
Each MVP is awarded an MVP patch, a Certificate of Achievement, and will be eligible to participate in one (1) FREE Singles Splash Board for a chance to qualify for the Fall or Spring Singles Regionals with a chance to play in the APA 8-Ball Classic or 9-Ball Shootout events in Las Vegas in April of each year.
Each free singles board entry is good for 6 months from the end of each qualifying session and can be used for any format of splash board but is only good for one attempt.
When are Singles Regionals?
There are two qualifying windows for the APA Singles Regionals.
Window 1: Players qualifying January 1 through June 15 will be eligible to participate in Season 1 Regionals the first weekend of October.
Window 2: Players qualifying June 16 through November 30 will be eligible to participate in Season 2 Regionals the first weekend of March.
